About this course

Sound British is a friendly pronunciation lab for every learner from age 7 to 13. Shayan, a 13-year-old with a clear British accent, shows you exactly where your tongue, lips and teeth go, then you listen, repeat and record yourself.

It suits all levels, from beginners to confident speakers who want to be understood more easily. Every accent is fine. This course simply helps people understand you the first time.

Clear vowels: short and long sounds, and sounds that glide
Tricky consonants: th, v and w, p and b, and silent letters, with kind tips for Urdu and Punjabi speakers
Stress and rhythm: word stress, sentence stress and linking words
Sounding natural: questions, a polite tone and everyday British phrases

Each lesson is 3 to 5 minutes of listening, with 8 practice words, a 5-question listening quiz and a speaking task. The skills also help build clear pronunciation for Cambridge speaking tests.

Good to know: No experience needed. Headphones help a lot, and a quiet spot lets you record your voice. A mirror is fun for watching your mouth.
